Completed in 1999, the Old Faithful Snow Lodge is the newest Yellowstone Lodge. The architecture of the lodge incorporates heavy timber and log construction and a cedar shingle roof, making it fit in with the classic, rustic grandeur of buildings throughout Yellowstone National Park. Western furnishings were used throughout the lodge interior. Accommodations at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge range from large hotel rooms to comfortable cabins.

Weather is generally pleasant in Yellowstone this time of year with warm days and cool nights. It is recommended to bring a light jacket for nighttime. Afternoon thunderstorms are common.

On all of our vacations, Trek Travel strives to find quiet, paved secondary roads or bike paths to experience a region; busy roads are avoided as much as possible. Yellowstone & Tetons Family is best suited for our Type 2 Riders. Our Trek Travel guides can also easily accommodate Type 1 Riders, who seek less mileage or fewer uphills, with a boost in the van. Those who wish to ride every mile but are concerned about their physical ability may want to try our electric bike option—you still get a workout but can climb alongside even the strongest rider. Type 3 Riders will enjoy the extra mileage the avid route options offer. The terrain is moderately hilly. Riders can expect a couple longer climbs and also longer descents on the routes. The roads in the park are generally in good condition but with a small shoulder. In peak summer months there can be large amounts of traffic. Trek Travel has made every effort to ride the least trafficked roads and bike paths, and we can always provide a shuttle through the busier sections. What are the options for a non-rider travel companion?
On most Trek Travel trips, we offer non-riding options for riders who want to take the afternoon off, or travel companions who want to spend little or no time in the saddle. Some of these options may need to be scheduled before your trip—please contact one of our Trip Consultants for more information.
