What is the weather going to be like?

The weather in the mountains is variable. Temperatures range between 44 – 71 degree Fahrenheit (7-22 degrees Celsius) in the months of July and August. It is possible to experience dramatic temperature and climactic changes in a moments notice and rain is always a possibility. Please pack for all seasons.

What are the daily rides like?

The activity level for this trip is Moderate. The average daily ride is about 40 miles, with 1,300 feet of climbing. The terrain is a combination of false flat riding and moderate hills. There are a few lengthier climbs that you can choose to either ride on your bike or in the van. Most riding is on lightly used secondary roads. Options are available for riding more or fewer miles, and remember your Trek Travel guides and support vehicle are always close behind! Please speak with your guides if you require additional ride options or activities.

What are the options for a non-rider travel companion?

Whether you want to ride 1 or 100 miles, Trek Travel has completely flexible daily options to meet your desires. We offer many non-riding options for riders who, perhaps, want to take the afternoon off, or travel companions who want to spend little or no time in the saddle. Some non-riding options for this trip are:

  • Wine tasting
  • Hiking in the Valley of the Ten Peaks
  • Canoeing on Moraine Lake
  • Taking the Gondola up Sulfur Mountain
  • Shopping in Banff

Some of these options may need to be scheduled before your trip—please contact one of our Trip Consultants for more information. Expenses and/or related transportation to these activities may not be included in the trip price. See Included in the Trip Price section for more information.
