What is the weather going to be like?

June, September and October in Provence usually brings clear, warm, and pleasant days with cool evenings. Rain is always a possibility, so be prepared with the proper rain gear in order to best enjoy your vacation.


What are the daily rides like?

The activity level for this trip is Moderate. The average daily ride is about 30 miles, with 1,900 feet of climbing. The terrain is highlighted by stunning views, quiet roads & hilly terrain. There will be an average of 2-3 major climbs per day. You will be surrounded by vineyards & wonderful cherry orchards, all great spots to rest in the shade. Options are available for riding more or fewer miles, and remember your Trek Travel guides and support vehicle are always close behind! Please speak with your guides if you require additional ride options or activities.


What are the options for a non-rider travel companion?

Whether you want to ride 1 or 100 miles, Trek Travel has completely flexible daily options to meet your desires. We offer many non-riding options for riders who, perhaps, want to take the afternoon off, or travel companions who want to spend little or no time in the saddle. Some non-riding options for this trip are:

  • Cooking Class
  • Visit the Provencal market in Bédoin
  • Tour the historic village of Vaison la Romaine
  • Enjoy a wine tasting in Gigondas and Vacqueras
  • Explore the hilltop town of Gordes
  • Visit the 2000-year old Pont Julien, an ancient stone bridge
  • Explore Peter Mayle’s hometown of Ménerbes
  • Discover the ancient stone dwellings known as “bories”
  • Learn the skill of playing Pétanque
