What is the weather going to be like?

Weather is generally pleasant in Yellowstone this time of year with warm days and cool nights. It is recommended to bring a light jacket for at night. Afternoon thunderstorms are common.

What are the daily rides like?

The activity level for this trip is Moderate. The average daily ride is about 25 miles, with 600 feet of climbing. The terrain is moderately hilly. Riders can expect a couple longer climbs and also longer descents on the routes. The roads in the park are generally in good condition but with a small shoulder. In peak summer months there can be large amounts of traffic. Trek Travel has made every effort to ride the least trafficked roads and bike paths, and we can always provide a shuttle through the busier sections. Options are available for riding more or fewer miles, and remember your Trek Travel guides and support vehicle are always close behind! Please speak with your guides if you require additional ride options or activities.

What are the options for a non-rider travel companion?

Whether you want to ride 1 or 100 miles, Trek Travel has completely flexible daily options to meet your desires. We offer many non-riding options for riders who, perhaps, want to take the afternoon off, or travel companions who want to spend little or no time in the saddle. Some non-riding options for this trip are:

  • Fly Fishing
  • Whitewater Rafting Snake River (Class 3-4)
  • Hiking
  • Shopping
  • Taking a wildlife tour

Some of these options may need to be scheduled before your trip—please contact one of our Trip Consultants for more information. Expenses and/or related transportation to these activities may not be included in the trip price. See Included in the Trip Price section for more information.
