All of our hotels are the best in the area and ideally located to maximize your riding. For specific descriptions please consult the individual trip itinerary.
Le Pinarello Hotel | Pinarello, Corsica
At the heart of an unspoiled and protected bay, the hotel is on the beach in the little village of Pinarello. Take advantage of everything southern Corsica has to offer: the sea, the sandy beaches, the maquis and the mountains – all the beauty that lies in Pinarello. Secluded terraces overlooking the beach and the sea will give you the impression of being alone in the world.
Fer a Cheval | Mecheve, France
Centrally located in this stunning mountain town, Fer a Cheval is a perfect place to relax after a long day riding in the Alps.
Grand Hotel Moderne | Lourdes, France
Space, taste and simplicity–that could be the motto of the architect who designed the rooms of the Grand Hotel Moderne in 1896. And it is still accurate today as the hotel offers certainly the most spacious rooms of the City of Mary.
Hotel du Louvre | Paris, France
In the heart of historical Paris, located on a quiet street in a prominent neighborhood, this is a stylish hotel where Oscar Wilde lived in 1899. The hotel’s website has some useful information and links to local activities.

What is the weather going to be like?
The summer months in the Alps & Pyrenees can bring warm days, ranging from the mid 60s to low 80s, with evenings dropping to the mid 50s to mid 60s. When traveling in the mountains it is best to be prepared for variable conditions as weather can change very quickly. There is always the chance of snow and rain. We recommend always traveling with rain gear as well as breathable layers to provide warmth when the temperature drops.
What are the daily rides like?
Rider Type | 3-4
|
Average Daily Mileage | Varies for each trip
|
| Terrain | mountainous |
Average Daily Elevation | Varies for each trip |
On all of our vacations, Trek Travel strives to find quiet, paved secondary roads or bike paths to experience a region; busy roads are avoided as much as possible. Tour de France is best suited for our Type 3-4 Riders. Type 4 Riders will enjoy the extra mileage the avid route options offer. The terrain is stunning in the France with views, quiet roads and challenging terrain. We will climb an average of 2-3 major climbs per day. You will be surrounded by the fresh mountain air, wonderful vistas and the landmarks that dot the routes of France’s most famous races. But please bear in mind, this trip has been designed for strong and/or experienced cyclists who are able to ride long and challenging mileage for repeated days. Van support is subject to road closures and race timing determined by the race personnel. See itinerary for specific daily ride distance and elevation options.
What are the options for a non-rider travel companion?
The following trips offer non-riding options:
- Week 1, Trip 1: Corsica and Nice
- Week 3, Trip 3: Race and Team Access
- Paris Finishing Package
- Friends at the Finish in Paris
How do I train for my trip?

For a limited time, book a 2013 Tour de France trip, and get $100 off a Spring Ride Camp of your choice. (No cash value, non transferable.)
