A small town in the middle of a vast sea of red rock and canyon lands, Moab sits on the Colorado River at the foot of the snow-capped La Sal Mountains. Whether Moab is your favorite place or a friend you haven't met yet, let us take you on a desert single track adventure that will rock your mountain biking world. This camp is packed with the sweetest rides in the area, both classic and new. From the Slickrock Trail that put Moab on the mountain biking map to Porcupine Rim, Amasa Back, Pipe Dream and others, let us take care of the details while you ride all the trails you've been dreaming about.
Plus, now you can ride with the Pros! On select dates, join Gary Fisher, Ray of Ray's Mountain Bike Park, JHK or Heather Irmiger, and learn from the best!

This style of trip is unlike any other Trek Travel vacation. Designed specifically to help cyclists prepare for their off-road cycling goals, Mountain Bike Ride Camps are focused on getting you out on a variety of trails to challenge and expand your fitness and skills. Each morning, after breakfast at the hotel, you will meet your Trek Travel guides at a designated time for the day's ride. You will pack your lunch and will either ride from the hotel to the trailhead or will shuttle to the trailhead. Lunch will be enjoyed on the trail or at the hotel between rides, depending on the day. There will be options within each ride for more or less miles, and more or less technical terrain. Due to the nature of the rides van support on the trail is limited so it's important to choose the right option for you. Or you may decide to take a day off and relax at the hotel or take check out some of the non-riding options in town. After your ride, you will have time at the hotel before gathering for dinner with the group or on your own.
Day 1 | Moab
Featured Ride: Moab Brand Trails
This network of trails provides fun loops, with varying levels of difficulty, from mellow to expert. Choose your own adventure while enjoying stellar views of the snow-capped La Sal Mountains as your dramatic backdrop.
Day 2 | Moab
Featured Ride: Magnificent 7 Trail System
Earn your descent with a long climb on Gemini Bridges Road before riding the first 3 segments of the Magnificent 7 Trail System: Bull Run, Arth's Corner, and the Great Escape. Stop for lunch at the namesake parallel bridges that span Bull Canyon.
Day 3 | Moab
Featured Ride: Morning and Afternoon Rides from Town
The recently built Pipe Dream singletrack flows along the base of the Moab Rim, accessible right from downtown Moab for a physically challenging ride. In the afternoon check out Amasa Back and the Pothole Arch Trail for some classic ledgy jeep road climbing ending with a great view of the Colorado River below.
Day 4 | Moab
Featured Ride: Lower Porcupine Singletrack (LPS) and Porcupine Rim (subject to snow line)
In a word: Awesome. This legendary, mostly downhill trail is a favorite of most, offering jaw-dropping panoramas and challenging technical terrain on rugged jeep road and desert singletrack. Did we mention 4500 feet of descending from high above Castle Valley to the Colorado River?
Day 5 | Moab
Featured Ride: Slickrock Trail
You can't leave Moab without checking out this classic trail. From the hotel, ride the Practice Loop or the entire Slickrock Bike Trail for an anaerobic and technical challenge on the trail that made Moab famous. With the exception of the occasional sandy wash, the entire trail flows over Navajo Sandstone, an incredibly high-traction stone that allows you to climb and descend angles steeper than you thought possible.
The Gonzo Inn | Moab, UT
Located one block from Main Street in downtown, the Gonzo Inn is a comfortable and trendy retreat within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants of Moab. With a pool, hot tub, and eclectic '70s and industrial era-inspired decor, the Gonzo caters to cyclists and makes an ideal home base for exploring the region by mountain bike.

How is a ride camp different from a regular Trek Travel trip?
The focus of our Ride Camps is to build your base miles and to expose you to a variety of mountain biking trails in order to build your confidence and skills for your off-road cycling goals. As a result our rides are focused on the physical dimension and not the site seeing. We also assume that guests are more self-sufficient than our 'all-inclusive' style regular trips. Each morning you'll begin your ride between 8-9am and return sometime between 2-5pm depending on the length of the ride and your ability level. Depending on your riding level you may not have a guide with you at all times, as the group may split depending on riding abilities. A support vehicle will be assisting on the day’s featured ride but due to the layout of the trail system (i.e. road access) you may not see the van during your ride. Please carry the appropriate layers, food and equipment. Once you return to the hotel the afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish. Your guides will ensure that your bike is in excellent condition. Any non-riding activities that you'd like to enjoy can be organized through the hotel and are at your own expense. Back to the top...
What are the daily rides like?
There is a reason that Moab is synonymous with epic mountain biking. The classic trails in the area, particularly Porcupine Rim and the legendary Slickrock Trail, set the gold standard for spectacular, unique riding that cyclists from around the world come to enjoy. With the relatively recent additions of the Moab Brand Trails, Pipe Dream, and the Magnificent 7 trail systems, the trail offerings in the area have evolved to offer something for all skill levels. That said, intermediate to advanced mountain bikers will have the most fun in Moab, as the terrain on the more classic trails requires aerobic fitness, good handling skills, and importantly, enough knowledge of your own abilities to know “when to say when.” All but the most skilled professionals walk their bikes at times in Moab! You will experience trails ranging from smooth, flowy desert singletrack to double-track roads, ledgy jeep-road climbs, alpine singletrack, and steep rock gardens with serious consequences for failure. Again, you must know your own limitations, and the rides are designed to allow for customization for the group and for the skill level of each rider. Please come prepared to expand your mountain biking horizons if this is your first time to Moab! Back to the top...
What kind of support do you offer?
Each day your guides will describe the featured ride and your supported options for the day. Those who want more miles and more technical terrain and those who want less may split into two groups in order to ride different trails or simply go at different speeds. If you choose not to ride with a guide you will need a thorough understanding of the trail map, adequate food and water, and tools to address bike repair issues that may arise. Cell coverage is limited in the areas you’ll be riding so you must be self-sufficient. We will offer shuttles back to the hotel at the end of the Day 1 and Day 2 rides (the other rides end closer to town, or in town). You are always welcome to ride directly back to the hotel for more miles on the days that shuttles are offered. Each day, depending on the featured ride, the weather, and the desires of the group, your guides will decide how best to support the ride with a combination of on the bike support and vehicle support. How much cycling/bike riding do I have to do on a Trek Travel Trip?
This trip is designed to build your base miles and your technical skills, so we anticipate that all guests will have a good level of physical ability and be sufficiently prepared to comfortably ride a variety of challenging terrain. (Featured rides are in the trip Itinerary.) Guests are welcome to ride as much or as little as they like and must be prepared to support themselves if they are not able to do the entire featured ride or chose to do a different ride. Please select the ride options that best suit your physical ability. Back to the top...
What kind of shape do I need to be in?
You don't need to be a professional athlete to enjoy a Trek Travel Ride Camp, however due to the level of riding we do encourage each guest to come with a good level of physical fitness. Please consult our Rider Types to find out what type of weekly rides you should be able to complete in order to enjoy this vacation. Back to the top...
Can I bring a non-rider travel companion?
You are more than welcome to bring a non-riding companion. The price varies according to the trip date. Please refer to the trip page for specific pricing for a double-occupancy room. Our Trek Travel staff members will spend their day supporting the riders, however they will have a list of suggested activities for non-riders. Back to the top...
What are the options for a non-rider travel companion? In addition to being a cycling mecca, Moab is a vacation destination for a variety of other reasons.
