Why Greenville?
Come discover why George Hincapie, one of America's premier Classics Rider and 3-time USA National Road Champion calls Greenville, SC home. Big George played a pivotal role as a domestique for 7-time consecutive Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong (1999-2005), as well as Alberto Contador (2007) and Cadel Evans (2011). Greenville, located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, offers some of the best training grounds with endless undulating terrain for all level of cyclists. We'll test our legs on the 7-mile climb to the top of Caesar's Head, a popular training ride for local area cyclists as well as ride the official racecourse for the USA National Championships held in May over Memorial Day Weekend. Our hotel is located in Greenville's Historic West End along the picturesque Reedy River featuring the iconic Liberty Bridge and Falls Park where the city hosts weekly outdoor concerts. Take a stroll along Main Streets, the cultural center for the region, featuring private galleries, museums, boutiques and trendy restaurants or catch a performance at the Peace Center performing arts center. How is a Ride Camp different than on a regular Trek Travel vacation?
Our Ride Camps are unlike our other vacations. The focus of our Ride Camps is to build your base miles for your cycling season. As a result our rides are focused on the physical dimension and not the site seeing. We also assume that guests are more self-sufficient than our 'all-inclusive' style regular trips. Each morning you'll begin your ride between 8-9am and return sometime between 2-5pm depending on the length of the ride and your ability level. Our guides will create riding groups that are based on a riding pace. You can choose to ride with a group or head off on your own. If you choose to ride solo, you will not have a guide with you. A support vehicle will be circulating through the riders but due to the variety of riding abilities on this vacation you may only see the van once on your ride. Please carry the appropriate layers, food and equipment. Once you return to the hotel the afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish. Your guides will ensure that your bike is in excellent condition. You are welcome to dine at your leisure and any non-riding activities that you'd like to enjoy can be organized through the hotel concierge and are at your own expense. Back to the top...
Can I bring a non-rider travel companion?
You are more than welcome to bring a non-riding companion. The price varies according to the trip date. Please refer to the trip page for specific pricing for a double-occupancy room. Your non-riding companion will have their mornings free to explore while you are riding your bike. You'll be able to reconnect in the afternoon and you can shape your day as you wish. Our guides will spend their day supporting the riders, however they will have a number of suggested activities for non-riders. Back to the top...
What are the options for a non-rider travel companion?
In addition to being a cycling Mecca, Greenville is a vacation destination. There are a number of non-riding activities to do in the area and you can also upgrade your lifestyle experience at the hotel. Some of these activities have additional costs (noted with a *) and can be arranged through the hotel's concierge. Here are some suggestions:
- Upgrade your evening meal to one of our recommended restaurants*
- Boutique shopping and exploration in downtown Greenville
- Hiking opportunities at Caesar's Head State Park
- Explore the iconic Liberty Bridge & Falls Park
- Golf*
- Spa Services*

Do I need travel insurance?
Trek Travel highly recommends travel insurance in the event of a medical emergency, lost baggage, or if you need to cancel your trip. Trek Travel has a custom travel insurance package available through Travel Guard. The price of your travel insurance is based on your trip cost. Please contact a Trip Consultant for more details. You may also purchase insurance on your own. The Trek Travel insurance policy is nonrefundable. Back to the top...

In your trip one-week-out email, you'll receive information about the specific time and location of our trip start meeting, as well as our end of trip transfer times. If I book a tour, can I be guaranteed that it will run?
All Ride Camps that have a minimum of 1 person booked two week prior to the trip start date are guaranteed to run. If we are within the two-week time period and no one has booked on that departure date, the trip will be canceled. Trips will not be cancelled due to low enrollment within 7 days of the trip start. Back to the top...

What does "double occupancy" mean?
Our prices are per person based on two people sharing a room. If you have paid for double occupancy and are traveling alone, you'll be paired with a roommate of the same gender. If no roommate is available there is no additional charge. Back to the top...
What is a single supplement? Do I have to pay it if I am traveling solo?
Because our prices are based on double occupancy, we offer a single supplement to those guests traveling solo who would like to guarantee their own private room. This supplement is in addition to the standard trip price. If you sign up within 7 days and we cannot pair you with a roommate, the single supplement fee will be required. Back to the top...

Wow’s From Our Guests & More Photos
When we asked our guests what their favorite WOW’s were from their Greenville Ride Camp vacations, here is what they said…
This was awesome. What a great way to start the season. I think my legs will arrive today from Greenville! Every Trek event has always had a memorable and challenging climb or two that I’ve never been able to forget. I can now add Caesar’s Head to Monte Falco and Logan’s Pass. Spartanburg is a great place to visit and I’m sure I’ll be back in the area again. Stefan was a fantastic leader. I particularly enjoyed listening to him sharing his training and racing experience. Thanks for a great Camp. See you in Bryce/Zion!—Mark
We recently moved to Greenville, SC after expansive research for a multitude of reasons; great weather, cosmopolitan city and great riding year round. Downtown Main Street is the epicenter of Greenville, with year-round special events, outdoor concerts, trendy restaurants, museums and endless festival celebrations. The city boasts one of the largest cycling communities within the country with hundreds of miles of country roads leading into the Appalachian Mountains. Each day our decision to move here is confirmed by the Southern hospitality and the discovery of another great ride. We are excited to share our enthusiasm for cycling and Greenville with you. Come join us and we guarantee you will want to come back.—Dave & Marquette
I absolutely loved this trip. Everything from the presentations to the rides themselves were very informative and made me want to all in all better my life by being part of something so great as Trek. I look forward to being a part of another Trek Travel trip. —Eric
Trip was excellent, very very happy with the entire experience. —Robert
Hotel and restaurants were even better than advertised. Service and support were exceptional. —Joe
