Part of the Trek Family
Our Trek connection is the most differentiating factor...we are born of Trek Bicycles. See the difference.
It’s the most important differentiating factor between us and our competitors—we are born of Trek Bicycles, and our connection provides you with an array of benefits that others just can’t offer.
Best Bikes: Trek ensures that we have the best, most up to date bikes in the cycling industry in a size and style to fit every rider. The all new fast, light and comfortable carbon fiber Domane 5.9 road bike with Di2 electronic shifting and the 7.6 FX hybrid are our base models. From there we are leading the industry with a range of options that even includes Trek’s Ride+—a bike with a motor! Enjoy bikes designed for a woman’s unique geometry to those designed to race in the Grand Tours (the Madone 6.5 upgrade). With a frequently replenished fleet, you enjoy the best of the best every time.
Best Gear: Experience Trek’s latest technology—you’ll pedal faster, for longer and with less effort. Only with Trek Travel can you ride the most revolutionary wheel-set in the industry—Bontrager’s Aeolus 3 D3 Carbon Clincher. Light weight, durable and as smooth as butter, these upgrade wheels put you ahead of the pack. Let’s talk comfort... Don’t like your saddle? Try one of the other 3 different styles we have in stock. Don’t feel like carrying your helmet on the plane? We have plenty here. Tubes, chains, spacers, risers, cranks, handle bar tape, derailleurs, stems...we’ve got everything you need to ensure the perfect ride. All of our bikes also come stocked with odometers so you know how far you’ve gone.
Bike Savvy: Trek has been building bikes for kids to professional racers like Lance Armstrong for over 30 years. They know their trade, their customers and the culture of this activity from city commuters to roadies. Because of our connection—so do we. Each of our guides goes through one of the most vigorous and in-depth bike mechanics training and bike fit seminar annually. They are well versed in cycling technique and if you wish, they’ll help you out with a few pointers to improve your ride. Does this mean we’ll be talking about gear ratios and the virtues of carbon fiber over aluminum over diner? NO! (Unless you want us to of course.)
Behind the Scenes Trips: Riding with pros or dining with Levi is not something you can do with any other company! Our relationship with Trek allows us to forge connections with the likes of Team RadioShack, Leopard Trek, mountain bike legend Gary Fisher and professional road racer Chris Horner, to bring you trips that get you behind the scenes. Enjoy access to RadioShack Nissan Trek on our Tour de France Team Access bike trip or our Amgen Tour of California bike trips. Occasionally, even friends like Lance Armstrong and Bob Roll show up on a trip just to say "hi" and hang out for a while.
Test Ride Trips: Not only can you see Trek’s flashy new bikes before everyone else, but you can ride them too! Trek unveils their latest road and mountain bike technologies on our Road and Mountain Bike Weekend trips each and every year. Both our Trek Travel Guides and Trek’s skilled Demo Team are on hand to show even the most beginner of rider’s the finer elements of these new bikes.
Bike Dealer Connections: We have a world of local cycling information and services accessible to us through our Trek Bike Dealers. Not only do they share their best cycling routes with us, but we are able to run trips in more places as we are able to get bikes delivered to us all over the world. Many dealers have traveled with us, so if you are interested in a trip, want to talk to someone you know and trust, just ask them. Dealers will also fit you to a bike before you leave and pass on your measurements to Trek Travel so that your bike is ready to go when you arrive on your trip.
Deals on Bikes: Thanks to our incredible partnership with Trek Bicycles, the next time you take a Trek Travel vacation, you’ll receive a $300 gift certificate toward the purchase of a Madone 5 or 6 series, Speed Concept 9 Series tri-bike or a Project One Trek Bike. Full balance of trip must be paid first and is only good for 2011 trips, i.e. this offer is not retro active.
Bike Advocacy: Trek Travel, as well as Trek Bicycles are passionate about getting people young and old to ride their bikes, for pleasure, transportation, exercise, for the environment, or to explore the world. It’s a lifestyle! We are a relatively small company with grand ideas. Our partnership with Trek, gives us the legs (or wheels as it were) to have greater extension and thus larger impact on the initiatives we have set out to achieve. We are currently working with a variety of bike organizations to promote biking, build more bike routes in the U.S., grow the bike commuter community, make inexpensive bikes available to disadvantaged youth, advocate for bike paths in our National Parks and work with organizations that supply bikes to communities in Africa.
