Day 1 | Boulder
Featured Ride: Self-Guided Boulder Hills
A scenic, unsupported ride through the Boulder foothills and a glimpse into the beauty of the Boulder canyons.
Day 2 | Boulder
Featured Ride: Left Hand Canyon
The 17-mile climb up Left Hand Canyon to the town of Ward is a classic ride in Boulder. The average grade is approximately 4.5% where the last 2 miles the grade kicks up a notch with a short section of 12%. Just a little climb past Ward is the Peak-to-Peak Highway at an average elevation of 9,000ft above sea level. This is one of the most famous roads to ride along Colorado’s Front Range. The Peak to Peak’s undulating hills provides spectacular views of the 14ers to the west and the flatlands to the east. Check out the hippie town of Nederland before descending back into town via the sweeping turns of Boulder Canyon.
Day 3 | Boulder
Featured Ride: Lee Hill
Today’s ride combines the best of what Colorado has to offer, starting with an 18 mile warm up. There is no other road that matches the beauty of South St. Vrain. Although South St. Vrain to Peak-to-Peak is a long 16-mile climb, the average grade is only 3%, which is a good thing, because the climbing continues for another 8 miles to the town of Ward along the Peak-to-Peak highway. Push your legs just a little more by going over Lee Hill, a short (1.5 mile), sweet and steep (7%) climb that descends into North Boulder.
Day 4 | Boulder
Featured Ride: Morgul Bismarck & "The Wall"
Ride the on same road where Greg Lemond, Bernard Hinault and Moreno Argentin raced their hearts out.The Morgul-Bismark loop is actually named after the Coors Classic/Red Zinger race promoter’s cat and dog. The last descend of the day is a fast 16 miles back into the heart of Boulder.
Day 5 | Boulder
Featured Ride: Carter Lake
Today’s 75-mile ride to Carter Lake offers a bit of recovery with only 2300ft of climbing. If the 7-mile climb is not enough of a challenge for you, don’t worry. Add 1,500 ft of climbing in 3.5 miles to head to Pinewood Lake before leisurely returning to Boulder.
Day 6 | Boulder
Featured Ride: Estes Park
The longest ride of the week, 95 miles, is to Estes Park, the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The views on this ride are like no other. Enjoy a break and take in the views in Estes Park because the town is located in a valley, which means there is a short climb out of the valley before descending back to the east. The hardest part of ride just might be the last 20 miles back to the hotel. Just picture a cold drink and a soak in the hot tub for the last pedal strokes.
Day 7 | Boulder
Featured Ride: Flagstaff
Flagstaff: Classic must do climb for cyclists visiting Boulder! The climb starts right at the base of the beautiful Chautauqua Park.
Boulder Inn | Boulder, CO
Boulder’s hidden gem, the Boulder Inn is located directly across from the University of Colorado. Upon arrival, hotel guests are greeted by a well-cultured staff with a wealth of knowledge about Boulder. The Boulder Inn also boasts the largest outdoor hotel pool in town, heated to 85 degrees. The hotel also offers a complimentary hot breakfast.

How is a Ride Camp different than on a regular Trek Travel vacation?
Ride Camps are a mix of guided and self - guided trips. The focus of our Ride Camps is to build your base miles for your cycling season. As a result our rides are focused on the physical dimension and not the site seeing. We also assume that guests are more self-sufficient than our 'all-inclusive' style regular trips. Each morning you'll begin your ride between 8-9am and return sometime between 2-5pm depending on the length of the ride and your ability level. Depending on your riding level you may or may not not have a guide with you. A support vehicle will be on each day’s featured ride but due to the variety of riding abilities you may not see the van during your ride. Please carry the appropriate layers, food and equipment. Once you return to the hotel, the afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish. Trek Travel staff will ensure that your bike is in excellent condition. You are welcome to dine at your leisure and any non-riding activities that you'd like to take advantage of can be organized through the hotel concierge and are at your own expense. Back to the top...
What are the daily rides like?
Boulder offers a variety of terrain to build your base. Daily rides will average 40 miles and 4,000 feet of elevation per day (with the exception of the first and last day at an average of only 25 miles and 1,000 ft). You'll enjoy a gentlewarm-up on your first day through the Boulder foothills. The following day you'll begin to gain some elevation climbing up Left Hand Canyon into Ward, a classic Boulder ride. Then, you’ll try out the Lee Hill ride along South St. Vrain to Peak-to Peak which boasts unparalleled views and sweet and steep climbs. By mid-week you’ll be testing your skills on the famed Morgul Bismark course and “the wall” and finally pushing on toward the 95-mile challenge ride in to Estes Park. There is nothing quite like the fresh air and the pristine views of the Flat Irons and gorgeous Rocky Mountains. Back to the top...
